Why did you become a financial advisor?

I grew up in a small town in southeastern Ohio, where West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio converge — a place we called the "Ville." It was a close-knit community of hardworking people, enthusiastic sports fans, delicious pizza, and parents who wanted a better life for their children. That sense of community — of people looking out for one another — never left me. After graduating from The Ohio State University in 1992, I spent a decade at Society Bank and KeyBank working in Retirement Plan Services, earning my MBA from Cleveland State University along the way. In 2002 I earned my CFP® designation, and over the next 20 years I built two of the leading financial planning teams at Key Private Bank and Huntington Private Bank, serving as Director of Financial Planning at both. I was good at it. But as I advanced, I found myself further from the work I loved most — sitting across from a client, understanding their goals, and building a plan that actually got implemented. I was shaping the advice, but I wasn't delivering it. Then in 2019, my high school class — Wintersville 1988 — had its 30-year reunion. I had missed earlier ones due to work and family commitments. At that reunion, something shifted. We reconnected instantly, like no time had passed at all. It reminded me of what matters: real relationships, real conversations, and being genuinely present for the people who trust you. Since then I have organized the annual Ville Golf Outing and a gathering for non-golfers — bringing people together the way the Ville always did. That experience brought me back to my purpose. I founded Ville Wealth Management to work directly with pre-retirees aged 50 to 65 — people who have spent 30 years building something and now face one of the most complex financial transitions of their lives. They deserve an advisor who is fully present, genuinely experienced, and has no conflicts of interest. My favorite saying — and the one that drives everything we do at Ville Wealth — is simple: "A financial plan unimplemented has no value."

About

Brian Jaros, CFP®, MBA, is the founder and CEO of Ville Wealth Management, a fee-only, fiduciary registered investment advisory firm based in Avon Lake, Ohio.

Brian has spent more than 30 years in financial services — beginning his career at Society Bank and KeyBank in 1992, earning his MBA from Cleveland State University, and achieving his CFP® designation in 2002. He then spent two decades building two of the leading financial planning teams at regional private banks, serving as Director of Financial Planning at both Key Private Bank and Huntington Private Bank. During that time he personally guided hundreds of clients through the complexities of retirement planning, investment management, estate planning, and tax-efficient wealth transfer.

In 2025 Brian founded Ville Wealth Management to return to what he does best — sitting across from clients, understanding their goals, and building plans that are actually implemented. The firm is named after the "Ville," the close-knit small town in southeastern Ohio where Brian grew up, a community built on hard work, trust, and people looking out for one another.

Ville Wealth Management specializes exclusively in pre-retirees aged 50 to 65 with $250,000 or more in investable assets. Brian helps clients navigate the critical financial decisions of the pre-retirement decade — Social Security timing, Medicare enrollment, Roth conversion strategies, tax-efficient withdrawal planning, investment management, and estate planning. As a fee-only advisor, Brian charges 1% or less on assets under management with no commissions and no conflicts of interest.

"A financial plan unimplemented has no value."

For advisor listings, we rely on sources including public filings and data provided by advisors, and we cannot guarantee that all information is current or accurate. Advisors are independent and may not have reviewed or updated this information. Please review an advisor’s Form ADV and do your own diligence before deciding whether to work with them.

Advisor matching and introductions are provided by FinanceHQ LLC (“FHQ”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warmer and an SEC-registered investment advisor. We receive compensation from certain participating advisors for introductions or referrals. This creates a conflict of interest because we have an incentive to recommend advisors who compensate us, including those who pay us more.
