0% LowHonestly, I got into finance because I'm good at math. Always have been. Probabilities, statistics, the analytical side of interpreting human behavior — it just clicked for me. And I wanted a good profession. Something with a future, where I could see people making a real living. So those two things pointed me toward finance. I knew I wanted to be in the industry. I just had zero idea what that meant. I didn't know I wanted to be a financial advisor — not really. At that time, advisor was just one of the easiest routes to getting in. But it wasn't until I actually started doing the work — sitting with real people, real clients, couples who had saved for thirty years and were trying to figure out what comes next — that something shifted for me. That's when I started to see... this is real stewardship. This is real ministry. This is real work. And I realized my natural knack for math, my knack for systems — I could add real value here. Because the people I was sitting with, especially my pre-retirees and retirees... they weren't asking how to invest better. The bigger question underneath was, how do I do this? How do I structure all of this — investments, income, everything — into a sustainable path I don't have to stress over? They were in the middle of the biggest transition of their working life. They'd spent decades accumulating. Earning, saving, deferring money, deferring experiences, growing toward some future version of their life. And now they were about to flip that whole thing on its head. From accumulating to distributing. From delaying and growing to deploying and aligning. And nobody had given them a framework for it. They were asking practical questions. Am I actually there yet? What does this phase look like? How do I make it all work? How do I align it with the life we've already built? How do I protect myself from things that happen in retirement? And most of the industry was running them through a risk tolerance questionnaire and handing them a portfolio. Because the industry is built for accumulation. Most advisors, most of the field — it's all geared toward growing assets, growing net worth. The practical problem of how do I start to distribute and deploy — that doesn't get addressed well. So that's the work. The work is helping them really see it. And what I've learned sitting in this seat is that it's not just about creating the system and the structure and reframing how they manage their money. It's also helping them chew on the question of what Tuesday morning is actually going to look like. If I'm no longer working... if I'm no longer making these trade-offs... what am I actually going to do instead? When people start to chew on that — when they start to pray over it — they have better retirements. And then there's the other half. Building the financial structure that actually funds the life they're moving toward. Strategic. Risk-averse. Built around income that can last the rest of their lives, instead of just more accumulation. Two halves. Clarity of destination — helping them articulate the vision, for themselves and their community, and steward that reality into existence. And creating the structure with their money. Reframing how they approach it. Helping them reallocate and put it to work in ways that fund this new lifestyle. It's a beautiful problem to work on. And the people I get to meet are awesome people. They have amazing experiences. I get to learn from their wisdom, sit with them, talk with them — and also help them make meaningful decisions about their money in ways that lead to better stewardship. More peace. More settledness. And hopefully... it helps them shine light, spread the gospel, in their own lives. This is my ministry. This is the way I help. That's why I got into the business. And that's why I stay in it.
