Joel has more than twenty years of experience in investment banking and wealth management, with a background in commercial real estate and philanthropy. Prior to joining Merrill, he held senior roles including Managing Director at J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Los Angeles and Director and Senior Relationship Manager positions at Wachovia Real Estate Capital Markets and Wells Fargo Real Estate Banking. Early in his career, he worked in development for the Shoah Foundation in Los Angeles.
He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Master’s degree from Ohio State University, and a Bachelor’s degree from American University. Joel serves on the Sustaining Board for the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate. His client focus areas include family wealth management strategies, services for endowments, foundations and non-profits, legacy and philanthropic planning, and small business strategies.
