John Tyler is a Private Wealth Advisor within Merrill Private Wealth Management. He has been with Merrill since 2009 and began his career in financial services at Bernstein Global Wealth Management, working with ultra-affluent clients across various industries. John advises senior corporate executives, closely held business owners, and ultra-affluent families on multiple aspects of their financial lives.
John specializes in providing strategic guidance for business owners preparing for and executing liquidity events, as well as assisting C-suite executives with managing concentrated stock positions and implementing diversification strategies for Section 16 insiders. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), Personal Investment Advisor (PIA), and holds a Sports & Entertainment designation. John serves on the Advisory Council for the Business School at Stephen F. Austin State University and is involved with the Klein Education Foundation, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Houston, and chairs the Finance Committee at John Wesley United Methodist Church. In his personal time, he enjoys fishing, golfing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
