Michael Fitz Patrick is a Senior Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. Since joining Merrill Lynch in 2016, he has focused on portfolio construction, goals-based analysis for individual planning, advising clients on risk and asset allocation, and consulting for 401(k) and defined benefit plans. As a qualified Portfolio Manager, Michael develops personalized investment strategies that may include individual stocks and bonds, Merrill model portfolios, and third-party investment strategies, some of which he manages on a discretionary basis through the Firm's Investment Advisory Program.
With a career in financial services beginning in 2000, Michael specializes in areas such as family wealth management, legacy planning, liquidity management, personal retirement planning, small business strategies, tax minimization, and retirement income. He holds the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA), Personal Investment Advisor (PIA), and Retirement Benefits Consultant (RBC) designations, in addition to Series 7, 31, and 66 FINRA registrations, along with life, health, and long-term care insurance licenses. Michael earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a minor in Public Administration from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
Michael resides in Hunt Valley, Maryland, with his wife MaryBeth and their four children. He serves as a board member of Change the Conversation and has previously contributed as a member of the Investment Committee at St. James School in Monkton, Maryland. His community involvement includes coaching youth lacrosse at St. James Academy and participating in TLC.
