Paul Checketts is a Private Wealth Advisor with Merrill Private Wealth Management based in Century City. He leads a team that provides bespoke portfolio and risk management services tailored to highly successful individuals, family groups, family offices, corporate executives, and entrepreneurs. Paul has over 20 years of experience in investment management and financial services, offering expertise across multiple disciplines including wealth structuring, customized credit and lending, philanthropy, and portfolio management.
Before joining Merrill, Paul served as an Executive Director in the Private Bank at J.P. Morgan for more than seven years and previously worked at Deutsche Bank and Northern Trust, managing relationships with Global Family Offices. He began his career in 1997 at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, later part of Credit Suisse, where he developed a significant wealth management business. In addition, Paul served as an Executive in Residence for the Banking and Finance Industry at the UCLA Anderson School of Management from 2011 to 2017.
Paul holds a Bachelor's degree from UCLA and an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Residing in Manhattan Beach, he is married with two children and actively supports the Manhattan Beach Little League. He enjoys coaching baseball and softball and participates in outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, skiing, competitive sailing, and traveling.
