We're a fee-only financial planning firm that's built exclusively for high-income millennial couples with kids (I have three kids under 5... it's a crazy time). He holds a Series 65 designation and has experience working at Para Wealth Advisors and Elite Sales & Marketing prior to founding Cascara Financial Planning in 2025. Joshua W. Tschirgi, CFP®, is the Principal and Lead Wealth Advisor at True Path Capital Strategies, LLC, which he founded in 2016 after five years in the industry. Josh works with people approaching retirement or already in it, using a structured process that coordinates retirement income, investments, tax considerations, and risk management into a single plan. Much of that work happens across disciplines. Retirement decisions rarely stay in one lane — a Roth conversion is a tax question, a beneficiary designation is a legal one, and a withdrawal strategy touches both. Josh coordinates directly with clients’ CPAs and estate attorneys so the pieces get decided together rather than in sequence, and so nobody is working from a partial picture. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 registrations, and an Oregon life and health insurance license. Common areas of work include retirement income planning, Social Security timing, Roth conversion analysis, estate and charitable giving coordination, and long-term care planning. Clients meet with Josh by video, at their homes, or at a professional meeting space, whichever fits. His practice is based in the Portland metro area and serves clients across seventeen states. He and his wife, Melissa, are raising two children in West Linn. Outside the office he golfs, hikes, and follows the Ducks. Independent Financial Group, LLC is a dual-registered broker-dealer and SEC-registered investment adviser that provides brokerage, portfolio management, financial planning, and retirement plan services to individuals, charities, corporations, and plan sponsors.
