Emerald Wealth
What do you actually want for this one amazing life of yours? I'm Eileen — CFP®, MBA, CRPC®, CDFA®, BFA™ founder of Emerald Wealth, a fee-only fiduciary practice for people who've built significant, often complex financial lives & want a partner who actually gets to know them, not just their account balance. That question, in one form or another, echoes something the poet Mary Oliver asks at the end of "The Summer Day," and it's become something of a north star for how I practice. So much of financial planning is really just in service of a much bigger question: what do you actually want this life to be? My approach is rooted in Behavioral Financial Advisor training, and it starts there, before we talk numbers, we talk about what you want your money to do for your life. Some of my favorite clients are sharp, successful people who are just now taking the reins of substantial wealth for the first time, often after losing a spouse or coming out of a divorce. Wherever you're starting from, my mission is the same: help you build & protect wealth that truly feels like yours, and a legacy that reflects it. I work with clients virtually across the U.S. & with a particular passion for serving American expats and cross-border families, especially those splitting their lives between the U.S. & Spain. I grew up in Madrid and I'm fluent in Spanish, so this specialty comes from lived experience, not just training. I'm always glad to work with expats wherever they've landed, but Spain will always hold a special place for me. There's an old Spanish toast my family always raised a glass to: salud, amor, dinero, y tiempo para gastarlo — health, love, money, and time to spend it. That's not a bad definition of a life well planned, and it's a big part of why I do this work. I also hold the CDFA® designation, and my connection to divorce financial planning is personal as well as professional. I've navigated my own divorce, and I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to rebuild a financial life on your own. That experience is a big part of why this work matters so much to me. I want every client walking through that transition, or grieving a spouse, to feel like they have someone fully in their corner, and to leave our conversations with real hope that what comes next can be even better than what came before. If any of this sounds like you, or like someone you care about, I'd love the chance to talk.
