I started West Highland Advisors to give families and individuals the kind of advice I'd want for my own: honest, thoughtful, and built for the long run. I'm a CFP® professional and CFA charterholder, and I work mostly with couples and individuals approaching or in retirement, small business owners and those with stock-based compensation, along with younger families who want to get organized as the complexity of their financial situation increases. My clients hire me for ongoing investment management and financial planning, and most of our work comes back to a few big questions. Is my portfolio still appropriate for my current situation? Am I on track to retire on my target timeline? Can (and how should) we afford this big purchase? How do we minimize taxes? As a fee-only advisor, I'm paid only by my clients, so my advice is never tied to selling a product. West Highland is named after the Denver neighborhood my wife and I call home, with a nod to the rolling hills outside of Philadelphia where our families reside. When I'm not working, you'll find me skiing, hiking in the mountains, or trying a new local brewery. We're also growing our family, with our first baby on the way this winter, and that has made the planning I do for clients feel even more personal.
