About
Advisers Investment Management, Inc. provides financial planning, investment counsel, discretionary portfolio management, and retirement-plan advisory services to individuals (including high-net-worth clients) as well as pension plans, profit-sharing and defined contribution plans, endowments, foundations, non-profits, and corporations. The firm also works with small and mid-sized employers through a Vanguard Retirement Plan Access relationship and delivers ERISA Section 3(38) fiduciary services for retirement plans.
The firm follows an evidence-based investment process grounded in Modern Portfolio Theory, implementing globally diversified model portfolios constructed with mutual funds and strategic allocations that range from 100% bonds to 100% stocks. Clients are interviewed to establish an investment profile, portfolios are managed on a discretionary basis and rebalanced quarterly, and the firm does not offer non-discretionary management or permit client-imposed investment restrictions.
AIM manages roughly $105 million across about 570 discretionary accounts and uses Axos Advisor Services and SEI Private Trust Company for custody and client reporting, including supplemental insurance coverage in addition to SIPC protection. The firm’s use of independent contractor investment adviser representatives who provide written financial plans (with planning fees paid to the representative) combined with a formal retirement-plan fiduciary practice and exclusive mutual-fund model portfolios distinguishes its mix of individual and institutional services from many peers.
