About
Blue Point provides discretionary and non-discretionary portfolio management for individuals, IRAs, trusts, endowments and corporate/business clients, applying an equity-oriented model portfolio across separately managed accounts and offering passive strategies on a selective basis; the firm does not provide standalone financial planning. It also will manage separate fixed-income portfolios when account size permits sufficient diversification and uses independent custodians to hold client assets.
The firm follows a Growth-At-a-Reasonable-Price (GARP) investment approach with a global perspective, combining fundamental, technical and cyclical analysis to seek capital appreciation while actively managing downside risk and using cash as a defensive asset. Portfolios are run with a long-term, tax-efficient, low-turnover orientation, use the S&P 500 total return as a benchmark, and apply explicit diversification and position-size limits within a core/satellite framework.
Noteworthy features relative to peers include a quarterly client newsletter ("Way Points") and a publicly available independent seven‑year performance examination of its model portfolio, reflecting an uncommon level of published performance reporting for a solo independent adviser. The portfolio manager invests alongside clients and has sustained involvement in industry and academic education programs, and the firm’s acceptance of corporate/business clients and engagement in educational outreach are less common among similarly sized independent firms.
