About

CareGen Wealth Management provides investment management and financial planning to individuals, high-net-worth clients, charitable organizations, and small businesses. The firm offers ongoing portfolio management along with financial planning services delivered on an ongoing, hourly, or project basis that cover topics such as cash flow, retirement, estate planning, and college savings.

The firm’s investment approach is grounded in Modern Portfolio Theory and passive investment management, using diversified asset-class allocations and low-turnover index funds and ETFs to pursue risk/return objectives tailored to each client’s goals and risk tolerance. CGWM may also refer clients to third‑party managers and implements portfolios with discretionary authority in most client relationships while monitoring suitability and tax considerations.

Compared with many peers, the firm emphasizes client education and implementation support — including behavioral finance coaching and ongoing habit-building — as part of its planning engagements, and it explicitly addresses employer benefits and equity‑compensation issues. The firm’s lead advisor holds CFP and CDFA credentials, which informs work on divorce‑related financial matters and complex compensation planning, a specialization not common among similarly sized independent advisers.

CareGen Wealth Management

I am the Founder of CareGen Wealth Management and a Wealth Advisor providing fee-only financial planning and wealth management services with customized solutions for my clients, with a primary focus on women. My clients may be divorced, retireed, widowed, or recent inheritors. They're looking for someone to literally and/or figuratively sit right next to them, hip to hip, as they make financial decisions that impact their lives and the lives of those who are important to them. My ultimate goal is to empower my clients to believe in themselves, make the most of their resources, make smart decisions, and forge better financial outcomes. I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® professional, and hold the Accredited Behavioral Finance Professional(℠) credential. Prior to starting my own firm, I was a Vice President with Goldman Sachs, Personal Financial Management and have worked in the financial services industry since 2006 following an earlier career working in the aerospace and information systems industries. I studied Financial Planning at UC Berkeley, have an MBA from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Economics from UC Santa Barbara. I live in the San Francisco, California area with my husband and when I'm not working with clients, I love to spend time in Brooklyn, Phoenix, and Los Angeles with my three grown children. (If you're curious, ask me about how this relates to my "Family Mission Statement".) I also enjoy spending time in Park City, Utah downhill skiing, hiking, or seeing films at the annual Sundance Film Festival.
