About

The firm serves individuals and families with cross-border ties to Spain through branded service packages (Sailor, Settler, Founder) that combine financial planning, portfolio management, and cross-border tax coordination. It also operates a separate offering, Juntos en tus finanzas, delivering a one‑time, fixed‑fee Plan Familiar primarily in Spanish for lower‑resource Latino households and employer‑paid employee programs.

Investment work is centered on a curated, passive-core approach with client‑specific overlays to handle cross‑border constraints (for example, PRIIPs/KIID issues and euro‑denominated cash for currency hedging), and services may be delivered on a discretionary or non‑discretionary basis. For ongoing clients the firm coordinates U.S. and Spanish tax preparation with vetted partner firms and reviews completed returns before filing, while Plan Familiar engagements are produced using software and advisor‑reviewed AI tools to generate written plans and personalized videos.

Distinctive aspects include a structured Founder package aimed at business owners relocating to or resident in Spain that adds entity‑structure and owner‑compensation planning and broader cross‑jurisdiction coordination, and an uncommon practice of handling a portion of clients’ personal U.S. and Spanish tax‑preparation invoices for ongoing package clients. The firm also provides community‑focused workshops and an employer‑paid Plan Familiar option, uses an outside portfolio platform for portfolio construction, and maintains vendor‑oversight and information‑security measures for its technology and AI tools.

Cross Border Wealth Advisors

Most financial advice assumes you live, earn, bank, and retire in one country. My clients don't — and that's exactly the work I love. I'm Victor Gersten, founder of Cross Border Wealth Advisors. I work with US citizens and dual nationals living abroad, especially those moving between the United States and Spain, and those planning a move to Portugal or elsewhere in Europe. What makes cross-border planning hard isn't the investing — it's everything around it: how two tax systems interact, where to hold accounts, how a Golden Visa or a relocation reshapes your plan. I'm both a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and an Enrolled Agent, so I look at your investments and your tax picture together instead of handing you off and hoping the pieces line up. When a client needs in-country expertise, I coordinate with trusted tax and legal partners in the US, Spain, and across Europe. I built this firm after years inside large US brokerage houses, where I saw how poorly the traditional model served people whose lives crossed borders. Today I split my own life between the US and Spain, work in English and Spanish, and teach university students on the side — so the cross-border balancing act my clients live isn't theory to me, it's my everyday. I'm fee-only and a fiduciary: I'm paid only by my clients, never through commissions or products. If you're building a life across borders and want a planner who actually speaks both sides of it, let's talk.

For advisor listings, we rely on sources including public filings and data provided by advisors, and we cannot guarantee that all information is current or accurate. Advisors are independent and may not have reviewed or updated this information. Please review an advisor’s Form ADV and do your own diligence before deciding whether to work with them.

Advisor matching and introductions are provided by FinanceHQ LLC (“FHQ”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warmer and an SEC-registered investment advisor. We receive compensation from certain participating advisors for introductions or referrals. This creates a conflict of interest because we have an incentive to recommend advisors who compensate us, including those who pay us more. You pay no fee to use our matching service, and advisor fees are not increased because of a referral or introduction. We do not review the ongoing performance of advisors, manage or hold assets, guarantee performance, or provide advice about specific investments.

By using our service, you agree to our Terms of Service and Advisory Agreement, and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. Please review FHQ’s ADV Part 2A and Form CRS. Logos provided by Logo.dev
