Hello there! I'm Kirk, a proud retired Air Force Officer with 25 years of service, where I had the thrill of being a test pilot, a Squadron Commander, and a Vice Wing Commander. I'm lucky to have an amazing family – a loving wife of more than 25 years, a wonderful stepdaughter, two fantastic sons, and a cherished granddaughter. After a year and a half of retirement, I found myself itching for a new challenge. Boredom pushed me back into the workforce, where I was able to continue my passion for helping others as a financial advisor at Vanguard. During my time there, I gained valuable experience and completed my Certificate of Financial Planning. My own journey includes successfully saving for retirement, living off those savings, and navigating the difficult world of planning for and paying for college. Since 2006, I've been a residential real estate investor, and I've delved deep into the realm of trusts, with a focus on revocable and charitable remainder trusts. I founded High Flight Financial to serve veterans and the military community with the same dedication and precision I brought to my military career. My mission is to provide comprehensive financial planning, not just investment advice. I offer advice-only services. I do not manage your assets for a fee, nor do I charge an ongoing retainer fee. I will also never collect a commission for anything I recommend. I will help you develop a full financial plan upfront and then support you as you decide on an hourly basis. Typically, this involves semi-annual meetings, but its completely up to you! When I'm not immersed in financial planning, you can find me attending various events of my children, staying up-to-date on financial topics or cheering on my favorite football team! I work virtually with clients, expanding my reach and keeping your costs low.
