About

Independent Financial Group, LLC provides investment advisory and brokerage services to a broad client base that includes individuals, high‑net‑worth clients, trusts, corporate and pension/profit‑sharing plans, and charitable organizations. The firm offers financial planning, discretionary and non‑discretionary portfolio management through its AccessPoint and Schwab CAM platforms, third‑party asset manager (TPAM) programs, separately managed accounts, unified managed accounts, and retirement plan services.

Investment Adviser Representatives (IARs) develop and implement client strategies using firm‑ and third‑party models, with client risk tolerances gathered via questionnaires to create Statements of Investment Selection and tailored proposals. The firm’s model construction and manager selection processes combine strategic asset allocation, multi‑manager/hybrid portfolios, and ongoing due diligence and monitoring, with a mix of passive and active exposures across standard risk profiles.

Compared with many large enterprise firms, IFG operates as a dually registered broker‑dealer and investment adviser—its brochure discloses that many IARs are dually licensed and that commissionable brokerage and ticket‑charge markups remain part of the business, creating potential conflicts that the firm describes and monitors. The firm is privately owned with no network affiliation and discloses several regulatory matters and remediation actions (including recent SEC and FINRA matters and a late Form 13F filing), as well as participation in third‑party programs (e.g., FundVest and cash‑sweep arrangements) that distinguish its revenue and custody relationships from many peers.

True Path Capital Strategies

Joshua W. Tschirgi, CFP®, is the Principal and Lead Wealth Advisor at True Path Capital Strategies, LLC, which he founded in 2016 after five years in the industry. Josh works with people approaching retirement or already in it, using a structured process that coordinates retirement income, investments, tax considerations, and risk management into a single plan. Much of that work happens across disciplines. Retirement decisions rarely stay in one lane — a Roth conversion is a tax question, a beneficiary designation is a legal one, and a withdrawal strategy touches both. Josh coordinates directly with clients’ CPAs and estate attorneys so the pieces get decided together rather than in sequence, and so nobody is working from a partial picture. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 registrations, and an Oregon life and health insurance license. Common areas of work include retirement income planning, Social Security timing, Roth conversion analysis, estate and charitable giving coordination, and long-term care planning. Clients meet with Josh by video, at their homes, or at a professional meeting space, whichever fits. His practice is based in the Portland metro area and serves clients across seventeen states. He and his wife, Melissa, are raising two children in West Linn. Outside the office he golfs, hikes, and follows the Ducks. Independent Financial Group, LLC is a dual-registered broker-dealer and SEC-registered investment adviser that provides brokerage, portfolio management, financial planning, and retirement plan services to individuals, charities, corporations, and plan sponsors. The firm offers advisory programs through its AccessPoint platform and third-party asset managers, serving a diverse client base including high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients.

Find your advisor

For advisor listings, we rely on sources including public filings and data provided by advisors, and we cannot guarantee that all information is current or accurate. Advisors are independent and may not have reviewed or updated this information. Please review an advisor’s Form ADV and do your own diligence before deciding whether to work with them.

Advisor matching and introductions are provided by FinanceHQ LLC (“FHQ”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warmer and an SEC-registered investment advisor. We receive compensation from certain participating advisors for introductions or referrals. This creates a conflict of interest because we have an incentive to recommend advisors who compensate us, including those who pay us more. You pay no fee to use our matching service, and advisor fees are not increased because of a referral or introduction. We do not review the ongoing performance of advisors, manage or hold assets, guarantee performance, or provide advice about specific investments.

By using our service, you agree to our Terms of Service and Advisory Agreement, and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. Please review FHQ’s ADV Part 2A and Form CRS. Logos provided by Logo.dev
