Lilliano Capital Management is an independent registered investment adviser that provides sub-advisory portfolio management to individuals, trusts, retirement accounts and small businesses through clients’ primary advisors. It delivers separately managed accounts and generally does not meet with clients directly, operating instead through the primary advisor relationship.

The firm manages nine strategies arranged into three activity tiers—Zenith (more active), Arcadia (mixed), and Halcyon (more passive)—and works with primary advisors to determine the appropriate portfolio mix for each client’s objectives and risk tolerance. Lilliano also operates an alternatives strategy called Lingo that uses systematic, options-based counter-position trades (holding long calls and puts simultaneously) driven by in-house technology, with an emphasis on liquidity, defined loss limits, and avoiding unsecured short positions or leverage.

A noteworthy and uncommon feature is Lilliano’s affiliation with another investment adviser through the joint ownership of the Lingo strategy, with fees on that strategy shared between the firms while Lilliano retains full investment discretion and can offer Lingo to clients beyond the partner’s client base. Operationally, Lilliano manages client assets on a discretionary, sub-advisory basis without taking custody of client funds and generally routes execution via custodians selected by the primary advisor, which distinguishes its client-facing and custody arrangements from many peers.
