About

Sustain Financial Inc. serves individuals (including high-net-worth clients) and charitable organizations and also provides advisory services to employer plan sponsors. The firm delivers discretionary portfolio management, comprehensive and project-based financial planning, and retirement plan consulting, reporting roughly $38.7 million in assets under management across two advisors and 66 client relationships.

Sustain primarily implements client-specific asset allocation targets through passive portfolios built with index mutual funds and exchange-traded funds, and applies fundamental and cyclical analysis when performing investment analysis as part of financial plans. Investment policy statements, ongoing monitoring, and the ability for clients to impose reasonable restrictions guide portfolio supervision and retirement plan oversight, including participant education.

A notably uncommon feature for a firm of this size is its regular provision of educational seminars and speaking engagements — offered on an “as announced” basis, sometimes pro-bono, and described in the brochure with fee ranges for seminars and speaking. The firm’s principals combine CFP certification with prior careers in education and public speaking, and the practice explicitly integrates group education and participant-focused workshops into its service mix for individuals and plan sponsors.

Hello, I’m Gabbi and I help teachers in WA and CA make smart decisions with their money. Teachers truly deserve more money! I first got into personal finance because my mom, a teacher, got sold a predatory 403b fixed index annuity and I helped her realize that her investments hadn't grown in 10 years. I was angry on her behalf and decided to learn about money to watch out for her and avoid the same mistakes. I became a teacher myself, and learned that this same thing had happened to my mentor teacher, and then I watched in happen in my own teacher's lounge too! While I loved teaching and miss my students, I knew I had to help other teachers like myself and my mom figure this out, so I switched careers into finance. As a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®) and Trauma of Money Certified Practitioner, I believe in taking a holistic approach to your money. We always start the financial planning process by talking about your values so that we can build your financial plan around them to reach your financial goals. We’ll work together to find a good balance between living well now and saving for the future-you. I completed my teaching credential, Master’s in Education, and Bachelor’s in International Relations from UC Davis. When I’m not reading personal finance books or working with clients, I spend my time rock climbing, hanging out with my amazing baby, and learning Spanish.

Hi. I'm Lorri. I'm Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), and the owner of Sustain Financial Inc. I specialize in working with state government workers, teachers, and/or members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I'm passionate about helping my clients find the balance between living the lives they want now while simultaneously giving themselves a strong foundation for their futures. By using a values-centered (your values, not mine) approach to financial planning, I've seen clients repeatedly shift from the belief that they must choose between living for today and saving for tomorrow, to the understanding that it's possible to do both if you are clear about what is important to you. I have a Master in Teaching from the Evergreen State College, and a Bachelor’s in Biology and Environmental Studies from Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA. I completed my CFP® coursework through Boston University. When I’m not financial planning, I can generally be found in a kayak, on a golf course, working in my garden, or out hiking or skiing in the mountains.
