About

I get it. Finding a Financial Planner that is a good match for you is not easy. The alphabet soup of credentials and terms can be confusing. I will take as long as you like to talk through all your questions.

We serve individuals and families (Baby Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y/Millenials, and Gen Z), entrepreneurs, self-employed individuals, ultra high net-worth families, trusts, intergenerational families, baby boomers, entertainment industry professionals, startup founders, business owners, and small businesses. We help our clients with holistic financial planning including: retirement planning, investment planning & management, business planning, wealth management, new wealth planning, income planning, estate planning, charitable giving, portfolio management, home buying, cross-border planning, and tax planning.

I have been fortunate to have served families and individuals from Alaska and California to Texas and Massachusetts and all over Virginia, Maryland, and DC (13 states so far) while based in Fairfax, VA. Why? Because we have everything needed to be your guide in a changing landscape.

Like most established firms, at Your Best Path, we offer comprehensive financial planning, retirement planning, investment management, and more to help our clients build the life they really want. However, there are a few aspects of our practice that differ from the great majority of planners.

– My mission is to help people align their values and their investments so they can stop supporting the companies that are destroying the systems that make life on Earth possible. I am a leader in sustainable, responsible, and impact investing (SRI), having received the CSRIC designation – the first-ever certification for studying investing while considering environmental, social, and governance factors. If you want it to, your portfolio can reflect your specific values, not just a cookie-cutter index from fund managers who don’t even vote their shares.

– We have extensive experience working with tech professionals, managers, and executives with equity compensation (RSUs, Options, ESOPPs, and deferred comp.)

– We also have expertise developed over years of working with clients from many branches of the Federal Government, so I understand the intricacies of their various benefit programs.

–I have no asset minimum and am happy to work with those with less, but am ready to serve those with substantial wealth.

ABEL Financial Management Co.

Hi, I'm Steve. I've loved financial planning ever since I was a kid watching the ticker tape on CNBC as my mom, a homemaker learned about finances herself. I grew up in a very frugal household who taught me about working hard and saving for the future. My mother was a homemaker or "domestic engineer" as she calls it and my father was a federal employee. I was fortunate to be introduced to Rita Abel and become the owner of her small, family owned financial planning firm in 2019. Today we work with approximately 60 families. What makes us unique is our passion to be "accountability partner's" for our clients to ensure they take care of the important financial matters in their lives. We are part financial advisors and party financial therapists for our married couples but most importantly we are organized, proactive and have a passion for financial planning. Looking forward to meeting and if you want to know more, I encourage you to read our google reviews online. Just search "Abel Financial Reviews" in google.

We'll help you think it through—whether you ultimately need an advisor or not. Warmer helps you compare advisors clearly, so you can choose with confidence.

Find your advisor

For advisor listings, we rely on sources including public filings and data provided by advisors, and we cannot guarantee that all information is current or accurate. Advisors are independent and may not have reviewed or updated this information. Please review an advisor’s Form ADV and do your own diligence before deciding whether to work with them.

Advisor matching and introductions are provided by FinanceHQ LLC (“FHQ”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warmer and an SEC-registered investment advisor. We receive compensation from certain participating advisors for introductions or referrals. This creates a conflict of interest because we have an incentive to recommend advisors who compensate us, including those who pay us more. You pay no fee to use our matching service, and advisor fees are not increased because of a referral or introduction. We do not review the ongoing performance of advisors, manage or hold assets, guarantee performance, or provide advice about specific investments.

By using our service, you agree to our Terms of Service and Advisory Agreement, and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. Please review FHQ’s ADV Part 2A and Form CRS. Logos provided by Logo.dev
