Action Financial Planning LLC

I'm Alison Chandler Tonks, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and founder of Action Financial Planning, a Fee-Only, advice-only registered investment adviser based in Twin Falls, Idaho. I provide flat-fee financial planning and non-discretionary investment advice to clients locally and virtually. I don't receive commissions or product compensation, and I don't charge fees based on assets under management. My goal is to provide objective advice without requiring clients to turn over management of their investments or purchase financial products. I especially enjoy helping physicians and other healthcare professionals, business owners, real estate investors, and people preparing for retirement bring clarity to complex financial lives. My path into financial planning grew out of my own search for objective advice that wasn't tied to selling a product or managing my assets. I wanted thoughtful guidance, clear explanations, and the freedom to make my own decisions. That experience ultimately led me to create Action Financial Planning. Before becoming a financial planner, I spent years working as a clinical pharmacist and Director of Pharmacy. That experience shaped many of the skills I now bring to financial planning: careful analysis, attention to detail, evaluating risks and alternatives, and translating complex information into practical, understandable guidance. As a real estate investor and business owner, I also bring firsthand perspective to many of the decisions my clients face, particularly when personal finances, investments, real estate, and business interests overlap. I grew up on a farm in North Dakota, an experience that taught me the value of hard work, resourcefulness, and planning for the long term. Those lessons continue to shape the practical, grounded approach I bring to financial planning today. I now live in Twin Falls, Idaho. Outside of work, I enjoy being actively involved in my community, giving back through volunteer service, staying active through CrossFit and outdoor activities, and traveling with my husband. I am also a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor.

For advisor listings, we rely on sources including public filings and data provided by advisors, and we cannot guarantee that all information is current or accurate. Advisors are independent and may not have reviewed or updated this information. Please review an advisor’s Form ADV and do your own diligence before deciding whether to work with them.

Advisor matching and introductions are provided by FinanceHQ LLC (“FHQ”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warmer and an SEC-registered investment advisor. We receive compensation from certain participating advisors for introductions or referrals. This creates a conflict of interest because we have an incentive to recommend advisors who compensate us, including those who pay us more. You pay no fee to use our matching service, and advisor fees are not increased because of a referral or introduction. We do not review the ongoing performance of advisors, manage or hold assets, guarantee performance, or provide advice about specific investments.
