About

Southeast Asset Advisors, LLC (SAA) provides wealth management services — including discretionary portfolio management, non‑discretionary investment consulting and financial planning — to individuals (including high‑net‑worth clients), family offices, endowments, foundations, corporations and public pension plans. The firm also offers retirement plan fiduciary services under ERISA, covering investment selection, monitoring, and the ability to act as an ERISA §3(38) manager and to manage model portfolios for plan participants.

SAA builds individualized portfolios using individual equities, mutual funds, ETFs, fixed income, Separate Account Managers (SAMs) and, when appropriate, alternative and private investment funds, and it conducts regular reviews and ongoing client dialogue with quarterly performance reporting. The firm provides both discretionary management and non‑discretionary consulting, assists with implementation when feasible, and monitors investments made through SAMs and private funds as part of its reporting and review process.

What distinguishes SAA from many peers is its role as a private fund adviser and majority owner of Conifer Advisors, which manages the Conifer Partners private funds that pay both asset‑based and performance‑based fees once specified return hurdles are met; SAA may waive its advisory fee on client assets invested in those funds. The firm also sponsors and manages several pooled vehicles (including SEA‑HCI SPV, SAA‑Tiger 14, SAA‑Tiger 15 and Teton Pines Capital), serves pooled and public pension clients, and maintains documented trading, allocation and limited investment‑opportunity procedures to address potential conflicts from side‑by‑side management and performance‑based compensation.
