Why did you become a financial advisor?

I became an advisor after spending nearly a decade in the long‑term care industry, serving in senior leadership roles and working with families as they navigated major health and housing decisions. That experience showed me how critical it is to have a clear financial plan for retirement, caregiving, and major life transitions. In that work I collaborated with venture capital investors and company leadership, explained RSUs and benefit packages to our employees, and prepared financial documents, which showed me how much I enjoy financial analysis and educating others on financial concepts. I chose advising so I could combine real‑world caregiving experience with technical planning skills to help my clients make thoughtful, tax‑savvy decisions about equity compensation, retirement, and the life they want to build.

About

I’m a CFP® (fiduciary financial advisor) and CDFA® who helps busy professionals, pre‑retirees, and retirees simplify complex financial lives. My work focuses on tax‑savvy wealth management, including equity compensation strategies and retirement income planning, so clients can grow and use their wealth in ways that support the life they want to build. I pay close attention to how career decisions, benefits, and family responsibilities intersect, especially for clients balancing their own retirement goals with support for aging parents or children. Clients often come to me with multiple accounts, company stock, and big questions about “what’s next,” and we work together to create a clear plan, regular check‑ins, and a decision‑making framework that feels calm, collaborative, and easy to maintain.

LGBTQ Wealth Planning LLC

Jason founded LGBTQ Wealth Planning to make expert financial advice inclusive, transparent, and deeply human. After nearly a decade working in financial services, he saw how many LGBTQ+ clients and allies felt unseen in traditional planning environments — and how powerful it is when people finally feel comfortable talking openly about money and life in the same conversation. Jason is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional (CFP®), an Enrolled Agent (EA), and an Equity Compensation Associate (ECA). His background includes extensive work with clients navigating complex financial lives, especially those with stock compensation and high-growth careers. Over the last ten years, Jason has advised clients through many of life’s biggest financial moments — IPOs and liquidity events, job changes, relocating across states, marriage and family building, buying and selling homes, market volatility, and many other financial transitions. He believes real financial planning goes far beyond spreadsheets; it’s about clarity, values, and confidence during moments that truly matter. At the heart of his work is a simple philosophy: people make their best financial decisions when they feel seen and understood. Jason partners closely with clients to help them make thoughtful choices about investing, taxes, cash flow, career, and life planning so they can live well today while building the future they want.
